Tyler Howard Winklevoss is an American entrepreneur and cryptocurrency investor. He was born on August 21, 1981 in Southampton, New York. Winklevoss is best known for co-founding the social networking website ConnectU along with his twin brother Cameron Winklevoss and Divya Narendra while they were studying at Harvard University.
After their legal battle with Mark Zuckerberg over the creation of Facebook, the Winklevoss brothers received a settlement of $65 million in cash and Facebook stock. They later used some of this money to invest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, becoming early adopters and prominent figures in the world of digital assets.
In 2015, the Winklevoss brothers launched the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, which is one of the largest and most regulated exchanges in the United States. In addition to their work in the cryptocurrency space, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are also Olympic rowers and have competed in the men's pair rowing event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
